My Team Icon Mika Häkkinen, Stars & Stripes Collection, and Griddy Celebration
F1 22 is ready to delight fans and players this week with a whole host of free content and the chance for new players to sample the game during Xbox’s Free Play Weekend from October 20-24.
Fans who would like to experience the glamorous life of an F1 driver will finally be able to do so during this week’s Free Play Weekend. Players will be able to take the wheel and create their own racing destiny, play with friends in the multiplayer mode, and immerse themselves in F1 life.
In addition to the Free Play Weekend, players of F1 22 will receive the new My Team Icon Mika Häkkinen for free. The ‘Flying Finn’ won back-to-back World Championships in 1998 and 1999 and was one of the most respected drivers of his generation. Players will be able to log into their in-game inbox and add Mika to their My Team lineup from 10pm BST on October 17 until November 7. (Requires F1 22, sold separately, and all game updates to play. Game includes in-game purchases. Items only available in-game until November 7 and the date is subject to change.)
With the F1 season heading to the Circuit of the Americas, all racers will also receive free US-inspired content, straight to their in-game inbox. The Stars and Stripes livery, helmet, race suit, and gloves will be available in-game from October 17, just in time to celebrate the United States Grand Prix, October 21-23.
Furthermore, F1 22 players will also receive “The Griddy” for free. It’s the dance craze that took the US sports scene by storm and is likely to take podium celebrations to an entirely new level. The Griddy finally makes its way into F1 22 for all player-created drivers.
Those who play F1 22 during the Free Play Weekend and decide to purchase the full game will keep all their claimed items and progress. New and existing fans will also be able to enter Daniel Ricciardo’s upcoming challenge, exclusive to F1 22 (requires F1 22 and all game updates to play).
