After the release of the Street Fighter Pack in May, featuring a cross-over with Capcom’s Ryu and Chun-Li, Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid returns to its core franchise roots starting this September in Season 4 with the release of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ Black Ninja Ranger Adam Park (September 21) and classic villain Rita Repulsa (December), and Power Rangers Dino Charge’s villain Poisandra (November).
All three characters come with mechanics unique to them, giving tons more combat and team-synergy options to explore. They retain the simple to learn, hard to master control scheme of fighters in earlier seasons.
When considering the next roster of characters to add to the Grid, Adam Park and Rita Repulsa were obvious selections, both classic in their own ways and icons of the “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” series. Poisandra was another story, which is why she’s here to give new flavor and a different type of villain. Poisandra is a sweet and deadly mix of power and grace and brings her husband Sledge to the fight, as he is a part of both her special moveset and arcade mode story.
Each of these Season 4 characters bring something new to the table: Adam with his Ninjetti teleportation and clones, Poisandra with her cake mines and husband-assist, and Rita, whose magic allows her to strike almost anywhere. To top it all off, Actor Johnny Yong Bosch reprises his on-screen role of Adam Park in the game!
Free to all players and new to Season 4, the Gravezord, a Zord cobbled together from damaged and destroyed Zords from the World of the Coinless, which first appeared in “Saban’s Go Go Power Rangers #9” comic book, published by Boom! Studios, adds even more diabolical ways to turn the tables or cement a Happy Birthday combo against two or three opponents at once.
Lastly, Anubis Cruger gets a new outfit, exclusive to the Season 4 bundle, adding a slick formal look for one of the most popular Rangers. Season 4 can be purchased for $14.99, or characters can be purchased individually for $5.99 each. For more information, visit battleforthegrid.com.
