Hey, I am Maciej from Starward Industries and I would like to tell you more about The Invincible – a hard sci-fi adventure game set in a unique, retrofuturistic world that makes you redefine everything you know about the human species, the universe, and yourself.
You play as Yasna, a highly professional astrobiologist sent on a scientific mission to the eerie and yet unexplored planet Regis III. When Yasna wakes up on its surface, she realizes her crew is gone and together with the help of her astrogator Novik she must not only find her lost crewmates, but also uncover the mystery of this seemingly desolate planet.
During your journey, you will use various atom-powered and analogue devices, drive a rover, and engage in interactions with different robot companions to get to the bottom of your investigation. Your story that you will experience as Yasna will vary depending on both your gameplay and dialogue choices. The decisions that you’ll make will shape your relationships with people, change your philosophical world-views, and make an impact on the events that will unfold on this distant planet. Depending on your choices, you will experience one of the 11 endings. Which one will you see for yourself?
Your mission on Regis III will be packed with scientific phenomena and difficult, moral dilemmas. Prepare to be confronted with a rival human faction and also with your own fears. The mission on Regis III will be a turning point for you to rethink everything you know about the human species, its unconscious ambitions, and its place in the evolutionary pyramid.
Some of you may know the foundations of The Invincible storyline from the novel of the same title, written in 1964 by Stanisław Lem, a famous Polish futurologist known for his philosophical narratives set amidst cosmic atoms. We used the abundance of atompunk technologies mentioned in the book, together with the main narrative focus, but we decided to reimagine the main characters to let you experience the story from a different perspective.
The atompunk machines and devices present in the game were designed based on NASA materials and engineer blueprints from the 1950s. We were also inspired by the works of Stalenhag, Chriss Foss, Syd Mead, the sci-fi classics, together with various interior designers from the past.
I hope you will enjoy the cosmic experience that we have carefully crafted in The Invincible and let yourself be completely immersed in the world of mind-boggling phenomena, moral challenges, and fears that reach deep into our collective consciousness. A nostalgic adventure in space that’s backed by hard science. It’s time to put on your spacesuit, check twice your atomic devices, and take a first step on the eerie land of Regis III. See you there, astronaut.
